St. Xavier’s School Durgapur, has been promoting holistic education and shaping young minds to face life’s challenges and succeed in today’s world.
Located in the industrial town of Durgapur, the school has as its motto “Like Gold in a Furnace”. It highlights the constant and dynamic process of purification to achieve the most precious results. The Motto also summarizes what Socrates said about good education: “education is a means to bring out the best that is latent in every man”.
In its fifty-six years of existence, the school has remained a home away from home for thousands of students and teachers, who share a filial relationship to make St. Xavier’s a conducive place for learning.
